History of the Raymond-Hadley Corporation - 1892-Present

The Raymond-Hadley Corporation has been in business for more than 100 years and at present time, we are furnishing food products to several different ethnic groups, institutions, bakeries, distributors and wholesalers, along with being contract packagers.

The Phoebe Ladies! The Raymond-Hadley Corporation began it’s business in 1892 by shipping vessel loads of flour and cornmeal to Europe and the Caribbean islands. On several occasions, the locals of the islands, during their "Fiesta Carnival" used our "PHOEBE" brand 90 pound cotton cornmeal bags to fashion costumes! The most notable were the "PHOENCI GIRLS" (FUNCHI) of Curacao who won a contest wearing our bags. However, due to the development of the milling industry in Europe, that business was lost. The business in the Caribbean was lost as the islands developed their own economies. Presently Raymond-Hadley ships yellow cornmeal to Aruba and Curacao.

Our business in the United States was originally made up of soft wheat flour and cornmeal. We settled in Spencer, NY in 1977 and we began our packaging business by purchasing equipment to pack 2 lb. and 5 lb. Packages.
